A shore dive. Directions to the site include going across a large rock. If approaching by boat, a very shallow draft is essential. Two specific hazards are named: an intake crib to the west with only one foot of water over it, and a submerged pier to the east. No depth, visibility or difficulty rating is published. The site is south of Lampe Marina, Erie.

The Hammermill Wreck is an unidentified vessel lying south of Lampe Marina in Erie. Nothing is published about what ship she was, when she was lost, or how. No name, date, cause, crew or casualty figure appears in any source located. What survives is broken up and partially burned. She takes her working name not from her own history but from the Hammermill Paper Plant, which stood about half a mile east of the site.

Unresolved. No source consulted, including eriewrecks.com, the Swayze file, Alchem's Lake Erie indexes and Bowling Green vessel listings, carries an entry identifying this hull. The only substantive documentation appears to be in the Wachters' Erie Wrecks East, second edition 2003.
